Driving Innovation, Collaboration and Industry Solutions
HRL Technology Group proudly participated in ABHUG 2025 in Brisbane from 24-29 November as a Gold Sponsor, reinforcing our commitment to supporting Australia’s power, boiler and HRSG sectors.
Representatives from our Mulgrave office (Neda, Igor, Velen and Aiman), together with colleagues from our Queensland office (Matt, David and Shane), hosted the HRL booth throughout the event. The team showcased HRL’s capabilities across materials, chemistry, asset integrity and performance improvement, and engaged directly with participants to discuss how HRL can support similar challenges within their operations.
Throughout the conference, the team met with existing clients and collaborators while also connecting with new organisations to explore emerging challenges and future opportunities. Our focus remained consistent: understanding the key issues facing Australia’s boiler and HRSG sector and supporting our partners with practical, evidence-based solutions.
The event also provided valuable opportunities to learn from leading experts, including Dr Barry Dooley and Mr Bob Anderson, and to strengthen HRL’s long-standing relationships with industry partners across Australia.

A key technical highlight was HRL’s presentation on stress-induced creep damage, delivered by Igor. The work, based on a weld failure investigation on a main steam sample line, demonstrated how certain sample line configurations can be prone to long-term damage if not addressed. As similar arrangements exist across many ageing assets, the presentation attracted strong interest and reinforced the relevance of HRL’s capabilities in failure analysis and asset integrity.
Another significant contribution was HRL’s joint presentation with Origin Energy on “Challenges in Optimisation: A Deep Dive into Drum Level Imbalances,” delivered by Aimen. The presentation highlighted HRL’s strong industry collaboration and our ability to deliver clear, evidence-based solutions to operational challenges.
HRL’s presence at ABHUG 2025 reflected the dedication, expertise and ongoing effort of our team. We look forward to continuing these conversations and strengthening partnerships to support safe, reliable and efficient performance across Australia’s energy sector.
