The Australasian Boiler and HRSG Users Group (ABHUG) Conference and Workshop will be held on 30 October - 1 November 2019 in Brisbane.

Russell Coade, Principal Engineer at HRL, is on the organising committee.

The conference provides three days of presentations from local and international speakers, with time for discussion, networking and to visit exhibitions. It will feature presentations on plant operation, maintenance, deterioration mechanisms, failures and repairs, layup, and chemistry.

Dave Potter, Managing Director and Director of Products and Solutions at Uniper, will present a case study on Cold Weld Repair of Grade 91 to Grade 22 Materials, and Russell Coade of HRL will present a paper on HRSG, Cracking, Corrosion and Performance.

The workshop, Welding for Fossil and HRSG Plants, will be on the morning of 31 October.  It will be run by Bruce Ham, Business Development Manager, and Russell Coade, of HRL.  Topics to be covered will include: welding, welding creep damaged components, support required for welding large components (i.e. piping , large valves, headers), the revised welding standard AS3992, the need for welding procedures and the welder qualifications (Welding Australia), temper bead and its challenges.

During the event there will be interactive discussions with presenters, equipment specialists and users.
